Nice, cozy place. Great food. Have been going to this place for 10 year, never disappointed.
Wife went out to Sea Grass to dine recently, which had me not wanting to cook, especially on a Friday night. Drove right by AP, and Ocean Grove (I kidded her about also going and dining alone). So as I drive lazily, I think of this strip mall (Jersey Shore BBQ, 10th Ave Burrito, et al) and I see this sushi spot. Had the 20 piece Sashimi which was fresh, and quite good. Standard Miso soup and Papaya Salad accompaniment. Good Asian Tea. Even better? Left my Amex and before ordering a new one (and that hassle with all of the entities that know you), I checked Amex (no had used the card), called them as they opened, and advised that they did have it. I'll be back.
Kotta Sushi hit the spot! We ordered lots of rolls for our large party and they didn't disappoint. My favorite was the Sweet Valentine roll, which is spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and avoc in a crisp soy bean paper, and I also really enjoyed the dumplings. I would really recommend Kotta!
My favorite place for sushi in the Belmar area. The fish always tastes fresh and they have a nice variety of stuff. My girlfriend and I got the Kotta sushi boat to share and were definitely not disappointed with the taste or portion size. Definitely a must try restaurant! Glad they're still open for takeout and delivery during COVID, never eaten inside the restaurant.
Really a three point five star review but we are feeling generous during the holiday season. We were a group of 5 at 8 pm on Thursday night after Christmas. The place was understandably empty on an off season school night. The waitress was friendly enough and offered to heat up our saki which was very nice (place is byob). The scallion pancakes and gyoza were very good. Edamame was good but a little over cooked. The chicken teriyaki bento box was tasty and sushi was solid. The ambiance was lacking. The interior was a little dingy and the restrooms were a little dingy. There was an man, maybe an employee, maybe a family friend literally sleeping while sitting up in a booth by the kitchen. Overall it's an okay local restaurant that has room to Improve.
